My review:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I’ve been hearing about Empire of the Vampire by Jay Kristoff a lot, and then I spotted that the second book in the series is due out early next year, and so I decided to read this one!

It’s a pretty big book, set in a world where there are vampires, and the Order that hunts them!

Gabriel is one of the Order, and this is his life that he’s telling the story of.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this book! I found the characters to be believable and I wanted to know what was going to happen next, so I kept turning the page!

I am going to be getting the next book in the series!

My rating:⭐⭐⭐⭐

Shadow magic on one side of a war and light magic on the other, and a different sort of magic system, this is a great start to a series!

There are two points of view, one is the light magic wielder, and the other is the shadow magic wielder! It was really good to see the same scenes from both points of view!

I found the pacing to be a little slow in places, but I understood it was for plot reasons.

This is a really enjoyable fantasy, with some adventure and some palace intrigue!

This is the sequel to The Ex Hex!

It’s just as fun and atmospheric as The Ex Hex was, again set at Halloween, but this time the female main character is Gwyn, cousin to Vivi from the first book.

I really enjoyed the story, and the romance! I found the mystery well done, and didn’t see the answer coming, though when it did I could see where the author had set it up!

All in all, a great cosy romance with lots of seasonal atmosphere!

This is set both in Mexico City in 1988 and in 2009 and has Meche dealing with her father’s death, and flashes back to 1988 for what’s led to this situation.

I really enjoyed the friendships shown in 1988, and how they’ve changed as adults. It’s atmospheric and has a lot of music references.

I liked the story, and I was drawn on, wanting to know what had happened.

This is by the same author as Mexican Gothic, and was her debut novel, which has been re-released.

I was given this book in exchange for an unbiased review, so my thanks to NetGalley and to Rebellion.

3 stories of friends that are all on the hunt for true love one Halloween! They each have all love potion that one of them brewed, and tonight’s the night to use it!

These are sweet stories, that all interlink, with a dash of the supernatural!

I enjoyed reading them, especially as it’s getting towards Halloween!
