Dear Edward is a sweet story of a boy finding his place in the world after a tragedy, and how it affects his family and friends.

Imagining the media spotlight on Edward is a scary thing, and I think this book covered that quite well.

This is quite hard to read I’m places, but it is a very moving book.

We head a news story as it’s happening, and this covers the aftermath and how it affects people.

The Final Strife by Saara El-Arifi is a fantasy novel, set in a world where the colour of your blood decides your rank in society.

The setting is well crafted, with characters that were believable. The society is well thought about.

I enjoyed the story and the way it was written.   

The second book in this sequence came out in May, so that’s one for me to be on the lookout for!

This is a charming story, with some a plucky young woman willing to do whatever she needs to do in order to save her younger sisters, and father, from the bailiffs who are due in 12 weeks.  Kitty needs to find a rich husband quickly, and then convince him to save her family.

Set in 1818, this is a glorious romp, with a strong female characters, and a story that was great! I really enjoyed it, and I’m looking forward to the sequel!

What happens when your best friend from university dies, and leaves you and her husband some tasks to do to mourn her.  Of course you’re going to do them, even if you don’t get on with her now widower.

This is a heart breaking and joyful story that tugged on my heartstrings. I found it hard to read at certain points as our characters go through all of the emotions, but ultimately it was a lovely story!

This is such a feel good book, with characters that I adored, and settings that came across so well!

I really enjoyed the setup, and I was rooting for the characters from the beginning!

This reminded me a little of Terry Pratchett, just for things from real life sneaking their way into a book, and making me smile at the idea of coffee addiction hitting a dungeons and dragons style world!

There’s some found family, self discovery and coffee in the book! Proceed with glee!

Two people who didn’t get on at school are now the people who can help each other out the most.

I enjoyed this story, and the machinations that they go through! It’s a light, easy read, with a good pacing on the story, and a fun set-up!

This is a YA thriller, with a serial killer being hunted.

I really enjoyed the story, and thought the twists and turns were great!

Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater is a mixture of regency romance and magic.

When I say it’s got regency romance in it, it’s more Georgette Heyer than Julia Quinn!  But with faeries as well!

I enjoyed the story, and found it to be a good romp, with characters that were varied and fun!

If you’re looking for a fun story to read on holiday, then this is a good book to pick up!

Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson is a fantasy, with witches, demons and organised covens!

I really enjoyed this book! It has friends at it’s core, there’s mystery, and a prophecy about the end of days.

I found this to be fast paced, with great, complicated characters, and a vivid world.

Looking Out For Love by Sophia Money-Coutts has Stella, who wants love but things have been going badly for her, and she needs to prove herself to her family.

It’s a light read, so perfect for a holiday. There’s romance, family drama and a dash of believing in yourself, so all in all, a fun read!
